This Administration of Medication Training for schools is designed for staff working in a school environment who are responsible for giving medication to pupils or need to understand how to do so. Government advice says that school staff should get proper training and reach the necessary level of competency before they take on the responsibility of supporting children with medical conditions. This course helps staff feel confident and prepared to handle these important responsibilities.

Course Content
Our instructors come from various healthcare and emergency service backgrounds, including the Paramedic Service, Fire Service, and Military. They bring a lot of valuable knowledge and personal experience to the course.
This 2.5-hour Medication Administration Training course covers six key modules:
- Legal Responsibilities and Requirements of a School Setting: Understand the legal obligations related to administering medication in schools.
- Key Aspects to Cover in the School Medication Policy: Learn what needs to be included in your school's medication policy.
- Procedures to Follow When Administering Medication: Master the correct procedures for giving medication to pupils.
- Common Medical Conditions, Possible Effects, and Medications Used: Gain knowledge about common medical conditions and their treatments.
- Safe Handling, Storage, and Record Keeping: Learn best practices for handling, storing, and keeping records of medications.
- The Practicalities of Administering Medication and How to Deal with Emergency Situations: Understand the practical aspects of medication administration and how to handle emergencies.
By the end of the course, delegates will confident in:
- Understanding the legal obligations of administering medication in school
- Following their school’s procedures for administering medication capably and in a timely manner
