Re-Qualification First Aid at Work
Course Description
This 2-day First Aid at Work Requalification course is perfect for refreshing the skills of those with a current First Aid at Work certificate. It covers the practical skills needed by a first aider in today's workplace and meets the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and the Approved Code of Practice L74 guidelines for re-qualification. By the end of the course, your skills will be up-to-date and you'll feel ready to handle a variety of first aid situations.

Course Content
By the end of this 2-day Requalification First Aid at Work course, delegates will be confident in:
- Assessing and acting in the event of a first aid emergency
- Administering CPR effectively to a casualty
- Providing first aid promptly and effectively to a casualty who is unconscious
- Treating a casualty who is wounded and bleeding
- Caring for a casualty with burns and scalds
- Addressing injuries to bones and soft tissue
- Handling a casualty with a suspected spinal injury
- Assisting a casualty who is in shock
- Treating a casualty with eye injuries
- Managing a casualty with poisoning
- Responding to a casualty suffering from anaphylactic shock
- Caring for a casualty experiencing major illnesses (heart attack, epilepsy, diabetes, stroke)
- Assisting a casualty who has suffered a head injury
- Understanding personal hygiene in first aid procedures
- Understanding the legal framework of the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981
- Using the first aid equipment provided in the workplace
- Understanding the role of first aiders in emergencies

Eligibility
All delegates must be 16 years and over to complete a course. Delegates must have a current, or recently expired First Aid at Work certificate, to take part in a Requalification First Aid at Work course.
